Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick

Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick ($11.99 Cdn from
This is the shade Just-pinched pink that I picked up from Walmart while grabbing groceries one night.  By the way - Walmart have fantastic prices on drugstore brand cosmetics!  I paid $10 for this and it is over $12 at Shoppers Drug Mart.  That makes a big difference over time!  Although I do like to get my Optimum points from Shoppers, so I go back and forth.  They often have really good sales too.

During the week when I wear a full-coverage liquid foundation set with powder, I tend to use a powder blush (I am in LOVE with the Clinique flower pop in plum pop at the moment).  But on the weekends I like to give my skin a break and I wear a lighter coverage product and then I use a cream/ liquid/ or gel blush colour.  It just gives me a lighter more dewey finish that looks less made-up.

Over the years I've used many different brands and Tarte cheek stains were my favourite for a long time.  Although I find that the sticks get REALLY messy with use and you have to be very fast to blend.

I also love the Benefit cheek tints especially the new Lollitint which is such a perfect cool pink for my skin tone.  But you have to be SUPER fast to blend that stuff in - or it stains your skin as applied.  I still use the Benefit Fine-One-One cheek stain that came out a couple of years ago - although it got terrible reviews from the beauty bloggers.

I always feel that if I use a very liquidy cheek colour - I'm going to wash off my makeup base as well.  So I like that this is much creamier.  It still blends in just as nicely - but it doesn't feel like a wet layer on your skin.  I like that you just swipe it on and blend with your fingers.  So easy.

It's also a nice portable little size and closes firmly - so I'm not worried about making a mess in my makeup bag or purse.  It makes for a nice mid-day touchup.

Here is the shade Coral Sheen which I just bought yesterday at Wal-Mart (it was the last one - and I believe these are limited edition).  BONUS - I just read on a blog yesterday that this is a dupe for a Chanel blush!  Gotta love that!

Here are some swatches on my arm.  Just-pinched pink is on the left and Coral Sheen is on the right.

  1. Thanks to the tips! I'm going to try this blush stick today. I like a subtle blush but definitely need some colour on my cheeks.

  2. You will like them - very easy to use.
